Ron and Jill are looking to the future for retirement, and Picacho Mountain will be at the top of their retirement destination list. Arizona residents Jill and Ron Odell visited the Picacho Mountain model open house after seeing the open house signs in the Picacho Hills area. They were in town to visit their daughter who is currently a cheerleader at NMSU, and are currently considering Las Cruces as a possible retirement destination when they are ready to retire in a few years. They currently have a business in Arizona, but they are smart planners, thinking ahead for their future retirement.

We love showing our beautiful Picacho Mountain homes and neighborhood

Billie Haynie is our lead salesperson at Picacho Mountain, and she had the pleasure of showing Ron and Jill our beautiful homes and carefully planned community. “When I show visitors our beautiful courtyard homes, I paint a picture of the lifestyle our community offers,” says Billie. “We are not just building houses; we are building a close-knit community of neighbors and friends.” The community feel and involvement is a unique feature of Picacho Mountain, and a big draw for many people considering it as a retirement destination. We spend time and effort making sure that the people in our community have opportunities to connect with and enjoy each other. “I spend a lot of time with our visitors walking the neighborhood, pointing out the fantastic views, walking trails, and and outdoor activities available to them in Picacho Mountain,” says Billie. “The fact that most of our residents have moved here from out of state and enjoy monthly activities is very intriguing to most guests who might have lived in a home for years but have no close friends in their current neighborhood.”

Las Cruces provides a stunning backdrop and a bounty of activities

In addition to her tours of the Picacho Hills neighborhoods, Billie is known for her excellent tours of the Las Cruces area, helping out-of-towners experience all the hidden gems that make Las Cruces such a great place to live.

“I am a fifth-generation Las Cruces native,” says Billie. “I love Las Cruces and I feel that I am an ambassador for our community. I offer visitors a four-hour tour so that they can discover what makes Las Cruces so special. I find out what their hobbies and interests are so I can customize our tour to their needs and desires. I always show my guests different neighborhoods, not just The Willows. We tour downtown and Old Mesilla and end our tour with lunch at La Posta.”

If visitors like to hike, Billie will take them to Picacho Peak Recreation Area and Dripping Springs Natural Area. If they are golfers, she shows them the Picacho Hills golf course, Sonoma Ranch, and Red Hawk. There truly is a treasure trove of activities in our area!

Picacho Mountain - The perfect retirement destination

After their visit to Picacho Mountain, Ron and Jill took the time to write us a note of thanks, expressing their excitement about what they saw in our neighborhood and the possibility of Picacho Mountain as a future retirement destination.

“Thank you so much for the incredible tour of The Willows at Picacho Mountain yesterday. The property is awesome. We wish we were ready to seriously consider retiring to Las Cruces! The Willows at Picacho Mountain will be top on our list. We love the floor plans and all of the parcels! We’re so happy to have met you and will speak highly about this property to our friends in Las Cruces and all around the southwest!”
