February is For the Love of Art month here in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  This past Sunday, February 7th was the second annual Picacho Hills “For the Love of Art” show and sale put on by the Artists of Picacho Hills.

This year’s event featured 18 artists displaying various art expressions from woodworking to watercolor.  The event was held at Picacho Hills Country Club and attended by over 460 people.  Picacho Mountain is proud to be a sponsor of the annual event, and we certainly enjoyed visiting with Las Cruces residents as well as those who came in from as far as Deming and Ruidoso to attend this Las Cruces art event.

The Artists of Picacho Hills is a group of local artists who love what they do and enjoy sharing their passion whenever possible.  This year the Picacho Hills “For the Love of Art” event featured two of our own Picacho Mountain residents.  Nancy Broekhoff featured her custom made jewelry and resident Doug Martin displayed his colorful Southwestern Desert acrylic paintings.

The Artists of Picacho Hills group has about fifty artists who participate in their various art shows throughout the year.
