Experience the power of an authentic “flying fortress”
If you’re a history buff or an aviation enthusiast, we’ve got a once in a lifetime experience headed your way!
From January 13th to 15th, one of the world’s few remaining flying World War II B-17 bombers will be in Las Cruces to offer tours and flights at the Las Cruces International Airport at 9050 Zia Blvd, Las Cruces, NM 88007.
A piece of living history, the bomber has been carefully restored and preserved to pay tribute to the sacrifices and strength of the “greatest generation.”
Buckle up for a flight back in time
This beautiful 65,000 lb. B-17, dubbed “Aluminum Overcast,” is a quintessential symbol of America’s air supremacy during the war, and a key component of the allied victory.
Tour guides and pilots will regale guests with the Aluminum Overcast’s captivating past life of heroic missions and bold sacrifice.
You can’t help but be transported back in time as you tour this magnificent piece of history — and just imagine the thrill of taking a flight in it! The B-17 will host flights of up to 10 passengers at a time throughout the three-day Las Cruces event.
Reserve a flight or drop by for a ground tour
This is a Las Cruces event you don’t want to miss! You can reserve your flight experience at B17.org, or by calling 1 (800) 359-6217. The ground tours don’t require a reservation and are family friendly.
If you can’t make it to the Las Cruces event, you’ll have another chance in nearby Santa Teresa, New Mexico from January 20th to 22nd at the War Eagles Museum at 8012 Airport Rd, Santa Teresa, NM 88008.
