There’s lots to love about the natural beauty and welcoming people of Las Cruces, but a July report done by WalletHub also found that Las Cruces was the #6 best-run city in the U.S.!

WalletHub examined and analyzed the operating efficiency of 150 of the largest U.S. cities by looking at how well city officials manage and spend public funds to give quality services to residents.

After constructing a “Quality of Services” score comprised of 33 key performance indicators, they measured each city’s score against its per-capita budget to rank the best cities in the U.S.

You can read the original report here and learn more about WalletHub’s findings and methodology.

Spoiler alert: Las Cruces passed with flying colors!

What is Las Cruces doing so well?

What the report’s findings boil down to is this: though we don’t all see eye to eye on every issue, the city officials in Las Cruces do a great job of listening to citizens and addressing their needs with thought and care.

Las Cruces ranked particularly well in the following areas:

  • Financial stability
  • Health
  • Safety
  • Infrastructure and Pollution

Las Cruces’s city leaders are attentive to monitoring which city services are most essential, when to increase and cut various budgets, and how to gauge the timing and need for increases in taxes.

There’s always something new to love about Las Cruces

We’re delighted to see yet another report ranking Las Cruces among the best cities in the U.S.
