In addition to being one of the best places to live, readers of Global Traveler Magazine voted Las Cruces New Mexico one of the best domestic tourist destinations in the magazine’s seventh annual Global Traveler-Tested Reader Survey.
This is just one of the many top honors and rankings that Las Cruces, New Mexico has received.
Global Traveler is a luxury travel magazine written for executive business travelers.

Martín Leger, advertising manger for the New Mexico Tourism Department, said it’s the hard work of the department and citizens alike who have contributed to making New Mexico a top destination for domestic travelers.

Changes may be coming to the state’s tourism department. Gov. Susana Martinez, in a press release, indicated that she sup ports the merging of the state’s departments of tourism and cultural affairs and plans to take action this year.
The awards were announced in the December 2010 issue of the magazine.
